Artist Statement
In the tiny, the secrets of the universe are hidden.
In this vast universe, the microscopic world is an infinite field of exploration, a mysterious and fascinating domain. After the pandemic, I began to rethink the definition of life and my own attitude toward the world.
Through painting, mixed materials and installation art, I explore the subtle connections between the microscopic world and the universe. Each work becomes a dialogue between inner perception and multiple possible worlds.

Biifo Smith works between London and Beijing. He graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in digital media, and was selected as an exchange student at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, focusing on interactive installation art.
The work spans oil painting, mixed materials and interactive installation, using cells, microorganisms and multidimensional space as recurring visual and conceptual threads.
